non-keywords in jpg

SPAM? or not?

Let's say I sell a foodplate. There are a lot of free toppings and side dishes as well. I want to mention them on the site, but it will take to much space of the content. And it will make the keyword density of the foodplate drop.
Is it safe to put up a little jpg looking like a menu which tells all the extra's? Or is this SPAM?

Itěs not spam but jpg isn't read as text.
You might consider to enter text,so keywords, instead,in the alt attribute of an image file.
Google appreciate very much!

If the keywords are with the jpeg as IPTC information would this be good, bad or indifferent?

Cheers

I think (not sure) it would be indifferent. I don't know SE that read over the text and the tags content.

Thanks specter

I wondering as Google bought Picasa which can add IPTC data that maybe they use it.

I can find nothing to confirm or deny this.

Anyway I may use it as it's useful for me.

Thanks again.

So, unimportant stuff can go in an image?

Yes, in as much that Google (etc) cannot 'see' what the image is.

Filenames and alt tags are important though.
