Because i am in a rare and unique business i fear that my keywords (if i stick to what is relivant to my field) are not going to be searched often enough? Im a circus aerialist and both those words arent terribly popular hahahha.... so my question is... what are the rules for key words? how far can i reach within relation to my business
Thanks for all the help.... it is greatly needed

The general rule about keywords to me is to make sure you actually have related content in your site. If you want to extend to "circus clowns" for example, create a section on your site that talks about circus clowns, and maybe offer a few links to circus clown sites. (This would be a good way to get relecant reciprocal links to your site as well)

That would be my rule of thumb anyway.

GirlPower19 - I was going to suggest you enter "circus" into the Overture Search Term Suggestion Tool to find some additional phrases, but you're going to be wa-a-ay under even that radar.

I think that you can assume that you're not going to be very competitive, but also that searches for what you do aren't necessarily going to fit any one pattern...

You probably know the terms better than I do. I can imagine circus performer, circus aerialist, trapeze artist, high wire artist, circus entertainer, etc etc etc. Depends on who your target audience is and how precisely they're liable to search. I think you'll need to target your main terms precisely, but to include lots of variants and "peripheral" words on your pages.

I assume you know how to get to the top and stay there. ;)
