importance of keyword distribution

while doing an SEO experiment in keyword density, i was wondering if it really matters where the keywords are in the text. if the keyword occurs 65 times in a document, does it matter if is spread out equally throughout the text, or just occurs 65 times in one sentance at the bottom of the page?

is there such a thing as an advantage due to keyword distribution?

I would say YES, it surely matters where the keywords are placed. The word is always, the higher up the keywords, the better, yet I have had success in putting them all over the pages.

I would say start with a lower density, then grow it slowly. If you start with too much, you will automatically get classified as SP-@-M
