...that allows a site visitor to send a pre-written email message

Hello,

I need a method that will allow site visitors to send various tips from an index to friends.

...something appropriate that works, is easy to implement and can be applied to send multiple text messages either via a site visitor's email program, my server's send mail, or from a cgi program.

I remember seeing a simple javascript code sometime back, that when a visitor clicked on a link, a small field to enter an email addy popped up. That might work, but I've lost it.

Here is what I want to do:

Incorporate an index of short, condensed tips on my site, each with a small gif link beside it, that when clicked, would allow a visitor to send that tip to someone in a text format.

Of course, I know how to config a mailto: with subject & message, however, this would allow the sender to alter my website's tag line promo & link if they wanted.

Any information, leads, options or suggestions greatly appreciated.

There's a FormMail CGI at Matt's Script Archive that might do the trick. I'm not really sure how configurable it is as far as making the message pretty.
