Which script do I need?

Hello, I want to make a list on a html page in which each item in the list can either change color, be ticked, be greyed or something similar when clicked or clicked via a button next to each item. This will be on an admin page so nobody can mess with it.

I want it so that the next administrator knows if an item has been completed.

Any ideas.

I think what you want is a server-side script. You want this state to stay across page loads right?
