Hi, I'me using "ZoneAlarm Pro 4" , this version has a "advanced" privacy control.

Resulting in the blocking of images, and (all?) java-script's , is there a method to program "save" java , and/or what should be avoided to be sure that all images/banners will be displayed?

[changing the zonealarm/firewall settings is not an option, since clients would have to change them too]

greetings

If your filtering your net connections using Zonealarm and using it to block a mix of adverts, popup/under, banner/skyscraper ads, animation etc you can't then expect then to still see those things.

That filter doesn't restrict other types of javascript functions.

I don't understand what your suggesting about 'clients would have to change them too'.

Are you trying to get around Zonealarm's filter so that your adverts are seen (contrary to the users wishes/settings).

If I've mistaken your intention then why don't you turn off the filter and let clients determine what they want for themselves?

It's because 'advertisers' believe their message is so important that we have problems with spam and a need for filters the like of ZA.

the trouble is i dont advertise , i have a form that was checked by a java-script (proper e-mail etc.) , zonealarm disable's this script?, thereby users can submit clear forms , now i'll have to rewrite all my form checks to php i guess? :((

On another site i'me reffering to local newspapers, using a non animated gif, and clear html href, all the links where removed by zonealarm (with-out notice), that's pretty extreme filtering :S

thnx

I would have expected you to have more trouble with the?~10%+? people who have javascript disabled entirely, than just those with ZA filtering.

It's probably a good idea to limit javascript to non essential tasks.

Good luck and welcome to WebmasterWorld.
