pop up Flash Intro

Can anyone tell me how to add an (pop up) Intro Flash in my web site? I already created the flash (using VisionBlazer) and i know to add it to a web page, but what i need to do is to add it to the website and to open automaticaly as a pop up, right after i type the website's address like this one <sorry, no personal URLs> and i already created the skip intro

You need to trigger a javascript window.open() function somewhere on the index page (perhaps using onload in the body tag, or perhaps calling the pop-up function from a link.) For an example of how window.open() works, see message #4 on our Generic Javascript [webmasterworld.com] thread.

The document that loads into your new window should contain your Flash movie and probably the "skip intro" button as well.

Do you REALLY want to do this?

Pop-up windows tend to annoy users. So do flash intros.
Combining the two seems like a bad idea. :)

If users have to sit through the same intro everytime that they come to your site then they will soon get very bored with it (no matter how cool it is).

To echo grahamsteward and tedster, if you really do want to do this (it's gone right out of fashion) make sure to add a skip intro link!

You could look at using a cookie - if the user has been to your site once, skip the flash intro and bring them straight to the content.
