Unique identification on LAN connection

Hi Gurus,

I would like to capture an unique id from each user presented in a LAN connection.

I know that We could capture the IP address of each user, but the ip addresses seem to be identical for all users presented in a LAN connection.

Is there any java script code or any way in order to capture unique id from such users?

The session id from your server side code will be unique and typically gets stored in a cookie. Is your server using PHP? ASP.Net?

I don't know of a way to get the info in JS, but in PHP [or another server-side lang. you can get request headers with] you can sometimes find the LAN address in an X-FORWARDED-FOR header, depending on the LAN settings.

For ASP.Net, you should be able to get the session id from the "Asp_net.sessionid" cookie.
