In a nutshell, IE6 won't open links in a new window, even
though no pop-up blocker is installed.>

And, like I said in the first post, IE6 is not listed in my Add/Remove Programs list under any name. (Running XP Pro, IE 6.0.2800.1106) I am a software developer(professional, not self-proclaimed), so I do know a little. :) Checked all the usual things such as the settings. I have seen on other forums where people blame it on an MS update, and it did just start happening a couple of weeks ago, but nothing definitive. Anyway, I guess I'll contact that first guy I mentioned above via email and see if he experienced anything similar.
urlmon.dll
Shdocvw.dll
Msjava.dll
Actxprxy.dll
Oleaut32.dll
Mshtml.dll
Browseui.dll
Shell32.dll
for e.g
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
When Internet Explorer was my default browser I had batch file to do it everytime I had a problem worked like a charm.

Mark
"Cool a software developer, When I encounter problems I try reregestering the following libraries using regsvr32, usually does the trick for most problems, shell32.dll always comes up with an error so dont worry about that. oh you have to be in the System directory to do it.

As you said - work like a charm. Re registering msjava.dll sorted the problem and I am using a pop-up blocker.
Cheers
A client of mine also fixed the problem by re-registering msjava.dll. However, depending on what blocking software a person has installed, it can still get quite messy.
I'm recommending to everyone who asks that they accomplish pop-up blocking by downloading a newer browser that has it built in. Of course, there are many IE die-hards who will wait for a version of IE that does it and prefer a third party program until then, even if it messes with everything.
Basicly some time ago all my JavaScripts stopped working.
I run IE6.
Ive checked all the noob problems with disabled scripts and so on. They are not disabled.
Ive also done the re-regin of the mentioned dlls in this thread, no go there either.
Any idea?
Any ideas on how to actually totally reinstall IE?
Thanks in advance.
