Sorry, I know this a really basic question for this forum, but I'm not really up on Javascript.

My question is relating to a template I'm thinking of buying from one of those template companies.

Then menus and other items are javascript. I'd like to know how universal the ability is for browsers to run this? Will there be a segment of the population that will have have trouble running the javascript on these pages?

Not everyone has javascript enabled, so yes, there will be "a segment of the population that will have have trouble running the javascript on these pages"

BTW posting URLs is against the terms of this forum, if you don't remove it you may find this post goes away.

What gets called javascript, is really three different things and there slight variations depending on which company's browser you are using. The original, created by Netscape, is JavaScript. Then there's jscript - the Microsfot, IE version. And finally there is ecmascript, which is the standard a this point.

We've got a past reference thread that sorts it out a bit, including variations from version to version.
