Need to Create Three-Pane Info Box

I need to create a number of multi-pane "info boxes," (teaser boxes?), 300-400 x 200-300 ... the type you see on Newsweek and other sites where you can click on a numeral or other button to move to another pane containing other content (a graphic and a small amount of text usually) and then click on the one that interests you to go a new page with fuller content related to the pane you clicked on.

I know little JavaScript but I'm guessing/hoping that the scripting required isn't too complicated.

I'm not sure if I understand totally what you're asking for, but it sounds to me like the Yahoo UI Library's CarouselControl [developer.yahoo.com] might do what you're looking for. Check out the examples.
