Validate if real person

We are trying to distiguish a fake person from a real person when they fill out their evaluation form to download our software. Things like zip code doesn't match state, area code is valid for matching state, stuff to this nature. Has anyone had experience with something like this - how did you go about doing it.

What are mean saying fake person?
If you are asking about registred members, you need to make restriction on a server side, if you are asking about bots, i think you can use random image checking (in a random image placed random word), if it's correct download is enabled) but it's also server side) may be i don't understand what you want clearly?

seamarket doesn't mean a fake person; he means a lying person. Like me, who enters 90210 whenever prompted for a zip code. Even though I don't live in Beverly Hills, or California, or the USA.

..and there I was thinking I was the only fake 90210 resident. Always needed a zip code to ensure a .com address at Yahoo mail. It's the only one I know.

You can have a checkbox something like:

[X] Yes, I am a real person.

Basically, you're talking a database operation here. You'll need to either have the validation information on your server or be able to access it from your server and use server scripts to do the validation. Though, I suppose this is one of the cases where XMLHttpRequest might be of some utility if you really want it client-side.
