I had no idea that there was draft version of ECMAscript 4. For those of you who don't know ECMAScript is the spec of JavaScript and ActionScript as well as others.

After a quick flick through the overview [ecmascript.org] and the Wikipedia artical, I am unsure of what to think. True classes and optional static typeing could be good things, but it robs from the dynamic nature of the language I fell in love with. What are your thoughts?

I agree with you. Javscript's nature is very dynamic. This is good for most applications, but there are instances where you can run into trouble--not that there isn't a way around these things-- but there are still those ambiguities. I personally like javascript the way it is, and don't feel too restricted when it comes to doing things i need to get done.

Interesting reading material to linked to, though. I'll put that off to the side to read a little bit later.
