Hello,

I found this script at the bottom of some of my pages:

<script language="JavaScript" src="https://www.net-filter.com/script/14743.js"></script>

What is it? and who could have added? my hosting provider?

Thanks,

The site looks like it offer stats - are you getting some sort of counter / stats service?

Here's one way that can happen:
- Page pulls user supplied data from a database
- User supplied data was entered in a form that did not validate for html entries

If it's not supposed to be there :-

1) change ftp and other relevant passwords.
2) upload clean files.

I am, of course, assuming that neither your host nor your browser is inserting this code.

That's a tracking code from WebtraffIQ for account #14743. WebtraffIQ deals with web analytics, online ad campaign tracking, etc.

As these things don't insert themselves, you or someone involved with putting the pages together must have included that line at some point.

If you are genuinely stymied by how this got there (and I assure you it was by a person with read/write access to the file, not some kind of script or worm) go to the URL indicated by the script (up to the .com part) and contact their customer service.

For your comfort, it will have absolutely no negative impact on your site if you remove the line. You might want to check with WebtraffIQ customer service first, though, just in case your boss signed up with them and didn't tell you. :)

depending on where this script has been written in your page you can always add another script to clear it!
That's what I did as my provider had inserted scripts in my pages ...
