Does anyone know of a script that can run a transitional background slideshow in a table? I have found one that just flips images but I wanted to use a transitional for a smoother look.

I'd check hotscripts or something like that. It may be hard to accomplish properly cross-browser. The concept is fairly basic, but I think that browser support for things like alpha masks is pretty poor.

I'd be happy if it worked in IE only. I just don't like the non-transitional look. I think the only way this works is with flash but I thought I would ask around. Thanks

This [dynamicdrive.com] might give you some ideas.

I have already searched DD and it doesn't have what I want. They have one for the entire body but not a background for a table.

You may be SOL. background-image tends to have far fewer options than actual images.
