Hey guys:)

Can a site get spammed if they have a simple type of javascript "check the box" form and it displays an output of meta info?
*It does not load another page with the info, it simply displays the info when you *check the box*. (You do not need to type anything into a box.) I'm not sure if a site could get spammed somehow with this javascript. It might be a dumb question, but sites get spammed, and i was just wondering if it could happen with this type
of javascript.

Well, thanks guys for your help:)
I appreciate your help.

What do you mean by "spammed"?

Hey DrDoc:)

Thanks for answering the thread:)

By spammed i mean such as when a site owner places a tool like a
meta generator, density analyzer tool, etc. From my understanding, it can possibly be spammed or the bandwidth usage is over used i think. I have seen sites where they only allow you to use their tool if you fill in a box. You have to Fill in the field with a letter and numbers combination to make sure it is a human trying to use the meta form or density analyzer tool.

Well, i hope that clears things up:)

Thanks again DrDoc for answering:)

To the best of my knowledge a check box wouldn't stop your site from being spammed. Reason being the make of the spammer would include the check box in what they sent to your server. The reason Captcha's or whatever they are work is the captcha is stored in a session and not in the form or on the page for someone to view. They're also randomly generated each time so that a spam maker couldn't visit the site and get the captcha for the script. I don't know how well it'd work but you could maybe setup an ajax request to fill in a div or something with normal random text and have the user enter it, samething as the captcha without the random noise.

Hey netfiends:)

Thanks for the helpful advice. Also, i decided to take down the method i had on the site. I then created a simple copy and paste method for the tool. It seems better this way. Users can just highlight the information and paste it accordingly.

Thanks again fellas for all Your help:)
