again hover background image non-caching

Hello world may be somebody solve problem with XP SP1 IE6
I have hover effect on menu. Main div where all points placed have background image. When i move cursor where and sometimes loading effect appears.
following methods don't helps me:

bckg=new Image()
bckg.src="..."

<div style="display:none"><img src="..."></div>

Anybody have new ideas?

How about using a rollover that shifts a background image, instead of changing the src.

I don't change the src of background image. It's stable.
It reloads occurs then i move a cursor to a point which opens submenu. It's upsets me(
