a javascript focus question

We have a pop-behind on a web site - another company has a pop-in-front on the same site. When the P.I.F is closed it calls the pop-behind forward.

If we had access to the P.I.F. we could just add an onload event 'window.opener.focus' But we don't have access to the front popper.

Is there anything we can add to the pop-behind to keep it behind?

I've been thinking about this since you posted it -- with no luck. From my experiments a while ago, trying to control the stacking order of windows, with the exception of the one that just loaded, is a rats nest of trouble.

From what I remember, different browsers act differently. Then there's the always-present potential of creating infinite loops in the javascript (a great way to crash a browser).

Maybe someone else has an insight I'm missing.
