Browser Resolution Question

What is the most prevalent resolution?

I haven't seen anything on this lately. Is 1024 x 760 becoming more prevalent? Anyone have recent stats on resolutions, especially among consumers?

Try Googling a few things like User agent statistics and Browser statistics, etc.

Looks like as of October it was 51% for 1024 x 760 vs. 31% for 800 x 600. Trend is toward 1024.

But it's a really slow trend.

Some brand new equipment, even with graphics cards that can be set for very big screen resolutions, are still being sold with 800x600 as the out-of-the-box setting. And we all know how rare it is for the average user to change something like that.
