email templates

is it possible to dynamically add in the senders email address

Hi,

I've got a couple of email templates for a client and I want to be able to dynamically insert the senders email address when the template is used.

I don't want to have to go round each client manually changing the template and it can't be in the signature (which again would mean changes on each client)

Does anyone know of a placeholder that would do this.

You could create an e-mail form and allow the user to pick their name from a check box. Then you could take the form data, populate your e-mail and send.

I guess the answer depends on how your template is being used. Is this being sent from a website, or are you using the template on a network?

The email template is going to be installed on each clients pc where they will have it as their default stationery.
As part of the footer there is a bit which displays a generic email address in the format :-firstname.secondname@#*$!#*$!xx.com.

I can have them manually edit each template when it's installed on the client, but that's a recipe for disaster or I could install them all myself but as the client is miles away that's not economic.

What I really want is a dynamic piece of code which automatically populates the email address space with the email address of the sender.

This would presumably depend on what email program each client is using. With some email programs you can do this, some you can't. TheBat! (which I use) has this sort of thing standard as a possibility in its templates. Other email programs may not.

If you're more specific about what you're using, you'll almost certainly get an answer.

All the clients will be using outlook express or outlook.
