im planning to put afew songs on a site i am doing. nothing fancy, i was thinking about a simple link, not unlike the way amazon gives you the chance to have a listen.
not after a flash mp3 player or anything, just wondering what alternatives i may have. so i dont trip up.
i guess it depends on the type of file, the user will then download it to open in 'their favourite app'?
any preference to file type do you think?

Do you want to allow the users to download the music file or just listen to it online?
If it is the latter then something like a streaming Real player file may be what you are looking for...
yes, the realplayer thing sounds about right for what i want. i presume that relys on the type of file, rather than the markup to work in that way?
and it doesnt rely on me having to buy some realplayer program to make the files?
