Did you know that you can open a new window in IE by double-right-clicking? Is that something new, or has it been around for a while? I accidentally discovered it 37 seconds ago...

Hmmm...mine doesn't do that! Maybe you have a special mouse.

Switched mice just to try... Even an old ugly MS mouse does it. I certainly haven't done anything "funky" or installed browser extensions... It's a brand new installation of XP Pro (with all updates). SP2?

I just tried with SP2 and it didn't work for me. The second option when you single right-click is "open in a new window" - is that what's happening for you?

Possibly the mouse driver causing it?

Hmm, I can't get this to work either (IE6sp2 on WinXP Pro), I think that TheDave could be correct and that this could be a mouse specific feature... Although if DrDoc tried it on a number of different mouses (mice?!?) there should be a difference of behaviour...

Doesn't work for me either, W2K SP4, MS Optical Trackball w/ Intellipoint 4 installed.

No, it's not selecting anything in the context menu. Hmm, weird, it doesn't work on this page (when typing a new post). It works on all other types of pages though... even blank ones.
Strange... but kinda cool :)
Yeah, might be a driver thingy...

Hmmm... It worked for me on this very page. I right double-clicked on the "Terms of Service" link. There was a slight delay and then a new window open up, full screen.
XP SP2 - Logitech Opti-Wheel but nothing fancy set up to cause that.
And it had nothing to do with the context menu.

It worked for me. Now if IE had the Mouse Gestures like Opera. I'm so in the habit of going Back with a little left twitch of the mouse.:)

Look at a programme called StrokeIt which allows for Opera like mouse gestures not only in IE but in the Windows environment also....

It didn't work for me with either my Wacom tablet or the Compaq mouse. Running XP Pro sans SP2.
