How do you make graphics look out of the box?

I want to make my website break free of the table border (or at least make it look like it breaks free). For example, having an sweepingly curved banner at the top of the page that seems to curve down and go beyond the edge of the table cell borders. Are there any tutorials you can recommend online that can help?

By the way, you are all great. I am new to web design but learn quickly through you guys.

Probably the best way to accomplish what you want is by using a CSS solution, because then you can overlap DIVs and have the graphics do what you want.

Unfortunately, I am not a CSS guru; but if you post this question in the CSS forum, and dig through the CSS library there (I think there is an excellent tutorial there too), that should put you on the right path.
