Help! I need help connecting to other ISPs other than AOL.

It realy annoys me AOL lags more when i am using certain programs and i don't know what happened. I have used the help menu many times.

When connecting i see a message that says that the connection was terminated before the main computers were reached or there was no dial tone, even though there is no other programs running.

Could anyone please help me?

:(

AOL is a very aggressive piece of software, it doesn't give you a real internet connection, and also takes over way too much of your computer, best bet is this:
cancel your aol account
uninstall aol, completely
Get an account with a real ISP
configure your system to connect to that ISP.

Enjoy the time you save trying to figure out the various issues people frequently seem to end up having with that company, use that new free time to do something more pleasant, fishing, scuba diving, rock climbing, watching the Boston Redsox try for an unprecedented 4 wins in a row at 3 down in the alcs.

by the way, the excess formatting in your posting isn't necessary, people on this forum are pretty good at being able to read what other people write.

Is there any other way, because i can't stop the service because i am only a teenager and i can't do anything about it.

Plus i used to be able to use other ISPs before.

Is there anything else i could do.

Thanks for any info you send to me pertaining to this topic

You can only use any ISP for a web connection if you have an account with them. For most ISPs, this also requires a payment.

If you are looking to use AOL for connection to the web and then use a different browser, you can make the web connection through AOL and then launch any other browser you choose for browsing the web.

But if you have an AOL account, and you are not getting a web connection when you dial into AOL, then AOL's tech support/customer service department will be the place to turn.
