Remember that a lot of the "anti-adware" software is itself installing adware and spyware
And while changing browsers can help in some situations (ie when the spyware is BHO, or IE linked), a full check doesn't do any harm.
It's almost got to a point where a good anti-adware solution is almost as vital as an antivirus!
It's an excellent free program; so is "Spybot - Search and Destroy" which you can get from www.download.com
My company installed these two programs on our six computers before downloading Windows XP SP2, and found up to 500 items of spyware or adware on each PC, despite having kept all Norton anti-virus software up-to-date (scary, huh?).
All computers run faster now, too :)
We are insisting those employees use Firefox, but you know how it is. Short of firing them, whaddya gonna do? Block HTTP traffic at the router?
felixren: Mozilla's Firefox web browser does a very good job of keeping popups and other nasty web programs from executing. You can download it from the Mozilla website.
