IE 6 no longer recognizing stylesheets

registry key "Use Stylesheets" being reset to No

I'm hoping someone can clue me in as to what I did or what has happened. I use both IE6 and Mozilla 1.7. Yesterday, while in IE, everything was working fine, when suddenly, none of the sites I visited would display using their stylesheets.

Some googling led me to the registry hive CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Internet Explorer > Main, where I find a key named "Use Stylesheets" with the value of "No". I changed the value to "Yes", but every time I restart IE, this value reverts to "No".

Have I somehow inadvertantly turned off stylesheets for IE? Could it be a virus? I've not added any new apps recently. Two other things I've noticed: Windows Explorer no longer displays correctly if I choose "Enable web content in folders" and HTML emails displayed in Outlook 2000 don't show up with the formatting, looking very odd.

I've tried uninstalling and repairing IE with no success and am approaching the end of my rope here. I wouldn't mind doing without IE for my personal browsing, but I need a functioning copy for my development work.

Thanks in advance for any insights,
bbxl

I finally figured out at least part of the problem. Seems as though my AIS Web Accessibility Toolbar (installed for at least a month now) got a bit wonky. Certain key strokes were interpreted as commands to disable CSS for certain websites. Had to turn off the toolbar, exit and re-open all IE windows, and everything's returned to normal. Just thought I'd leave this resolution in case anyone else ever experiences the same thing and does a search.

Thanks. Someone will probably appreciate this thread some cold, dark night.
