Hi all!
I want to be notified (alerted) via a subscription to a web site in IE on a XPpro/pc. My concern is that (my client) is most interested in is in PDF format, opening in IE read PDF. Will this be read by IE's subsc service? Next question, will IE be reading an outdated version because it's reading a cached version off the server. Some servers have cached copies for a day correct? Or does anyone know of some type of script I could use to accomplish this task?

I also recall someone here giving me a keyboard combo to force the server to give up its latest version of the site. But alas, I've forgotten the keys for mac and windows.

thx if you can help with some advice.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, pcgandalf!

The combination for a force refresh is CTRL-F5 on PC - I'm not sure about the Mac (maybe Apple-F5?).

A link to a PDF file will lauch Acrobat reader and won't be displayed within the browser like a Word doc...
