Logging in using cookies...

I'm having trouble logging in with username 'admin' and a randomly generated password - from a CMS I just installed. I've tried IE 6 and Opera.

After putting in the username/password...the screen just refreshes. From a browser standpoint, what might be the problem?

Cookies are enabled and cleared to the best of my knowledge.

If you were just having trouble with Opera, I'd say check the technical forums at [my.opera.com...] -- I know there have been a few oddities with both post and get.

However, since you're also seeing this bad behavior with IE6, it sounds to me like you need tech support from the original creators of the CMS.
