For some reason my cookie cache got cleared but I had the .txt cookie files in another folder. Is there a way to merge/insert these .txt files on disk into the active cookie cache? Perhaps a software can do this or just dumping them into your active temporary internet files folder?

After a bit of reading about IE6 and cookies at the MS website, I don't think there's a simple fix. Because of the interactions between cookies and P3P privacy settings (introduced with IE6) it looks like a real mess to do anything manually with cookies.

There was some talk about an import utility, but as far as I can tell it was never released.

Also, there is another file, index.dat that actually contains the index for all cookies used, so if you don't have that, I don't think you can just replace the .txt files and have it work. Whether there is some software that might do that I have no idea, though I doubt there is, can't see a reason for anyone having written that.
