Creating HTML for email, how to test AOL without AOL account?

I am creating HTML for an email newsletter, but I've heard nothing but horror storries about how the AOL email client displays HTML.

I'd like to test, but does this mean I need to sign up with AOL or is there something like a free account or work around? I couldn't find anything myself :/

You can always sign up for a free month, then cancel, but be very careful about this, AOL has been sued repeatedly for their practice of not cancelling when you ask them to cancel, they've lost each time, but they keep doing it.

If you keep your email thing very basic though, very conservative, use tables, use images etc, it should display correctly, keep the CSS to a minimum and it should work fine.

A couple of links that might help. The best info is on AOL's webmaster site:

[webmaster.info.aol.com...]

If you're using CSS, then try this (it has a good summary of AOL versions too):
