Hi,

I am having problem with IE6 (it happened suddenly today).
It refuses to open a second window. Whenever I open a second window, it overwrites the first window.
I usually browses with 5 to 6 windows :(

I went to Microsoft IE website but it seems that nobody is responding to posts (although I am not the only one to report the problem).

Did you had the problem?
And what did you do to resolve it?

Thanks

Tommy

have you downloaded any pop up stopper programs recently, try holding down the CTRL key when you open a new window.

Don't know about this one, but clering the cache often helps with IE trouble.

First, there's a Knowledge Base article available about some of the reasons this happens:

[support.microsoft.com...]

Also, I've heard that de-selecting and then re-selecting IE as your default browser (and rebooting in between) may sometimes fix the problem.

Thanks for the link.

I run the .dll and everything was OK
I cleared the history and the files in the cache
I have also reset websettings and restart the PC
and it is not resolved.

Need to reinstall IE I think?

Reinstalling IE6 and rebooting the CPU seems to work.

If you use so many browsers at one time, you might find the tab features in Mozilla or Mozilla FireBird useful! (Sorry, couldn't resist a plug for my favorites!)
