c:\windows\system32\usb_d.exe

trojan virus carrier?

Anyway first it was optimize.exe which took over and installed a Stotch porno toolbar right under my google bar and hijacked my home page. When I downloaded SpySweper it successfully eliminated that file and the offensive toolbar. Then AVG signalled that there was another trojan virus usb_d.exe

Problem is they cannot be deleted as they are protected in some way. Maybe someone here knows what to do. I finally renamed it junk.exe and at least AVG has stopped alerting me.

Am I a lone victim?

Any ideas?

Sympathy?

Cheers, S

Thanks to you both. Actually AVG seems to have woken up as the file is now nowhere to be found. I then lost my connection but a kindly RR tech came to my aid. All is well for the moment though I will read the references to ward off future assaults. All the best and thanks again. S
