Open a link in a new tab

This is for a site where loads of my visitors are using Firebird / Mozilla / Safari / Opera. Is there any way that they can click on a link and have it open in a new tab, rather than using target_blank and opening in a new window?

I think that's something that the user sets in preferences. I have it that way in Opera and Mozilla/Firebird on my computer.

Yeah, that's a user preference. Hint: don't mess with how I use my tabs ;)
