I was asked to check out a website today and got the strangest results when I tried to view the source code AND I could no longer cut and paste. I had to reboot this machine to be able to paste a snippet here...

<HTML>
<noscript><b>This site requires a javascript enabled browser!</b></noscript>
<meta http-equiv='expires' content=''>
<script>se='us=Ti aede o upr orbosr rwe eso . rhge srqie!;ldcmn.aesd=ouetalg=ouetgtlmnBI;
s(idwsdbr?refleiNnvgtrueAettLwrae)idxf\'esae)=
?reflei(s&iN{lr(np;hslcto=\';
a s=\'fnto e({euntu}wno.nro e;a 9;ucini({fd)dcmn.nrgtr=ucin({eunfle;o i=0i ouetiae.eghi+
{ ouetiae()zgleym n\'};fd)fnto I({mg;eunfle}fnto c)dcmn.notxmn

What am I looking at? I feel like such a newbie.

Thanks,
jb

Looks like spanish to me.
Strange names for variables and procedures...

Maybe You should post the site's address...?

Why can't we post URL's?
I posted one just a couple of minutes ago (not a dangerous nor a commercial one though)... Mommy, did I do something bad?...
Sticky it onto me :)
----EDIT----
Copied the code. It's on:

<sorry, no links - see Terms of Service [webmasterworld.com]>

Looks like pure jibberish to me. Either this or a crazy programist (a real wacko) wrote the thing...
Any ideas anyone?

Just a fact I noticed:
On the original page something was preventing me from marking any peace of text (and copying it?), while the effect doesn't occur on the copy...
Maybe Your CPU got "infected" with the effect... :)

A stupid "n00b" question:
What does "charset=windows-1250" mean?

I had too reboot. It did turn off the Copy/paste. I really, really don't like having my computer taken over like that. :(

I started this last night being curious about the weird code I was seeing. Apparently it is encoded in charsetset=windows-1250 so the newbie's (;)) like me cannot admire their code. ok.... I can accept that, BUT now I am really cranked about their apparent ability to alter my keyboard functions. Once you view the site, you may NOT cut and paste. In order to grab the snippit of code I had to save the view source and reboot the machine.

Perhaps something else happened, but since it apparently happened to WeirdoPL also, I can only persume that as a reward for viewing their site, they will SCREW WITH YOUR MACHINE.

I'm sorry but I don't get it. No wonder users turn off javascript. What a shame.

ok.....sorry about the rant. I'm feeling violated. This is NOT what I thought the web was all about. :(

New stuff about the THING:

- blocks any kind of marking on the THING's site
- blocks the Copy and Paste functions in Windows
- apparently on some machines makes a stable effect, whilst on others (like mine) the effect lasts only while the THING's site is open.

Now what really bothers me is: WHAT FOR?

It's using a product called Logaprotect by Logapole if my guess is right.

You may want to read the thread on HTML Guardian in this forum for more information on this sort of thing.
