Ok...I have a regular html page that many customers download and save to their computers.

At the top of the file is a table of contents of sorts with numerous hyperlinks to bookmarks throughout the page for easier navigation.

The problem is that when customers use IE to save the page to their computers, IE rewrites the href tags into absolute URLs pointing back to my server instead of the local copy of the file on their computer.

Other browsers such as mozilla etc. save the file correctly.

Does anyone know a way to keep IE from rewriting the href tags when saving?

Thanks!

There's nothing you can do about the rewritten URLs (or all the other changes that IE makes to a page when saving it), other than writing a letter to Redmond and requesting a change ;)

So, if the rewritten pages are a problem, offer a link to a zipped version of the file for download instead...
