Body Text Color - If not #000 - What?

So, I'm hopeless at colors but I want my body text not black, but perfectly readable.

Firstly, suggestions most welcome ;-)

Secondly, anyone had any positive/negative experience when sitting off-black text on white?

Find them quite restful on the eye, although it depends upon the quality of monitor that peps are using.

The colour code is made up of three groups, red green and blue and formatted as RRGGBB in hex.

Make sure that none of RR, GG, or BB have the a value near the value of white. Definately avoid values of FF in any of the RR, GG or BB positions and preferably avoid anything beginning with F (i.e. F0, F1...F9, FA, FB .... FF). And try to avoid anything that starts with a letter at all. The lower the first number in each of the three positions, the better (when on a white background).

This helps colour blind people to be able to read it more easily and covers different types of colour blindness.

Other than that, I am not too good at suggesting colours :)

Thanks guys, after a bit of experimentation I found that 5C5C5C works really nicely, if I can read it, anyone can ;)
