I've been asked to pull an animated .gif and a .mid from an email attachment.

<META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.2600.0" name=3DGENERATOR>

background=3D1_multipart?3_ATT00023.gif

Content-Type: image/gif;
name="Music gif.gif"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-Disposition: attachment;
filename="Music gif.gif"
Content-ID: <001d01c39cfe$a3d7c900$d8618445@oemcomputer>
Content-Location: 1_multipart%3F2_Music%20gif.gif

I don't know how to pull them out or follow back to the source.

It's just a fun little thing that's happily working its way around the world, so I don't have any ethical qualms. I'm at a loss, but he'd sure be impressed if I could manage it.

The text is posted on a slew of pages (evidently pretty popular), but of course none of the sites that I found used the same .gif or .mid

Try a search for base64 decoder. I've had to use decoding tools especially when Macintosh users send me attachments.
