I recently designed a web site for a client, but one of their adviser can't see any images on the home page, except the background.

I used the same techniques I've always been using (Dreamweaver MX for Mac), the site displays well on all the browsers I tested (Mac & Windows), and I wonder if this problem lies with my code or with this adviser's browser (Win ME, MSIE 5.5).

Does any one has heard of such a bug? As the forum's TOS do not allow me to link to that site for check, contact me please for the site URL.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Golok

Welcome to webmaster world :)

You should remove the url above and read the TOS here [webmasterworld.com]

for the record it displays fine on IE 5.5 win2k.

Does he have Norton Firewall 2004 installed? This has an advert blocker and will block graphics that have names that resemble advertising (such as topbanner.jpg, logoadvert.jpg etc...)

One possibility.

Thanks PCInk. That could be one possibility, especially since the site is about advertising and since even the domain name contains the word advertising...

I'm going to check that!

PCInk was correct: it's the firewall which is the cause for my trouble. These guys are using Norton Firewall 2004, with Ad Blocking function activated.

The following link gives more details on the subject:
