It never fails that whenever I install an internet service's software -- my browser's title and the "graphic box" underneath the minimize, reduce, and close tabs located at the top right corner of the browser window change to something I really do not want changed. Is there a way to change it back to the default Microsoft settings and if so can someone please tell me how to do this? I know that the IEAK kits from Microsoft allow customization of the browser title but I just want to undo what my internet service has forced on me. In my opinion, it is similar to illegally changing your computer's settings for if the software is uninstalled the changes made by the install will still remain.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Window Title

"Internet Explorer" is the default value I believe.

I hate when that happens, too. They should all be shot. :p

Jordan's suggestion will fix the title bar problem. But I don't think it will reset the "throbber" to its default for Windows. BTW, throbber is the official name for that thing according to the folks at The Screen Savers on TechTV. Last week they featured a free utility that makes it really easy to change the throbber including reseting it to the default. I'm sure you can find the show notes as they're really good about archiving that sort of stuff on their website. HTH. :)

Download Xteq's X-Setup:

http://www.xteq.com/ [xteq.com]

It lets you fiddle with everything in your system. Just launch the Default UI for Power Users and then adjust these:

You can change the title in:
Internet > Internet Explorer > Appearance > Window Title

You can change the throbber in:
Internet > Internet Explorer > Appearance > Picture Options
