Is this a necessary part of my website? I'm sure it has something to do with FRONTPAGE, but my site is populated with them.
1.) Are they necessary? 2.) Can I remove them? 3.) Do they cause a problem with spiders?
Thanks for the help.

That is the code to insert an extra space and it is perfectly fine. When you use the space bar to say put a space between words you see a normal blank space on the page and in the html ... however, in order for browsers to render consecutive spaces properly, you need to insert so you may see a lot of them, particularly in links at the bottom of pages.

I wouldn't call a page filled with  's (non breaking spaces) well coded. IMO 90% or so of those are unneccessary.

Thanks Seeber01 and Heini,
I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try and reduce the number of instances. As far as a well coded page is concerned, I'm sure it's not.
