Is there a meta tag for Accessibility..?

Hi,

I have been asked to add a new meta tag for Accessibility.

I have all the usual suspects already there..but I havnt hear of a one for accessability....?

any help? really need some

All I can find is the W3C's Checkpoint 13.2, which says:

13.2 Provide metadata to add semantic information to pages and sites. [Priority 2] (Checkpoint 13.2)

There is no specific accessibility meta tag as far as I know.

No quick fix for accessibility I am afraid. Who ever asked you to find them must habe gotten muddled up.

The above should help you. You dont need to go as far as he does to be legal but there are some really good tips in there.

Asked by whom? What effect do they want the tag to produce? Sounds like a request made out of ignorance.

Once you have passed your site through bobby's tests, you can put a 'bobby approved' icon on the site (see [bobby.watchfire.com...] ), but not even bobby's own site has any special meta tags to identify its accessibility level.

problem solved....

The meta tag in question is aimed at making "kiddy friendly" sites easier to find for some search engines etc.
