Using both id and name attributes for compatibility

What browsers do not support id?

I'm currently specifying both the id and name attributes on my page elements. I'd like to drop name, as it is deprecated, but I once read somewhere that some browsers do not support id. Does anyone know of a definitive list of such browsers?

Which ones support it at all? ...or which ones support it correctly? ...or which ones support it under which circumstances?

All of the above, I guess! And I'm thinking specifically of use of name as well as id on anchor and map elements.

I suspect it is mostly quite old browsers that do not have correct support for id, but I'd like to be sure.
