I would like to send an email with an HTML document as the body of the message
and not as an attachement.

I am using Outlook 2000. I never had the need to send a message this way until 2day.

Well, I just found out that I must change the content-type of the email to read: text/html

Anyone know how to do this with OutLook.

The only way I've had luck in sending an HTML document as an email through Outlook was if the HTML document was created in Word (shudder) and I used the file--> Send to recipient command (which brought up an Outlook window and allowed me to send it to people)-- but for some reason on my computer, that causes both Outlook and Word to crash, and so I have to send it as an attachment to a co-worker who then can send it the proper way. *shrug*
That's the only method I've found that works, but it does work well for all recipients.

I think im correct when i say you can also click on the little down arrow on the "create mail" button and select "web page" and then enter url of the page you want to send.

I think you can enter the URL as the path of the file on your local machine but im not 100% on that last part.

I agree with dragonlady7. That is how I have done it in the past. No problem with Outlook or Word crashing here.

Just try this.

Convert emails in Outlook to HTML format

Tools
Options
Mail Format
Check “Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages”
Apply
Ok

New
File Open (find file you want to send, probably an html file)
Word opens.
Close the blank email
Go back to word
File
Send To
Mail Recipients

You are done.

Yes, I have these typed up so I can go to them to use whenver I want to send and html formatted email through Outlook. No, I am not anal, just can't remember every little thing anymore. ;-)

Check out this issue of the AddMe newsletter. It tells you how to do exactly what you're asking:

I use a programme called "Gammadyne Mailer". It lets me include separate HTML and text versions (so those with text only email get a decent version too) and includes a bunch of other features that I've found useful.

Cheers

I wanted to get Gammadyne Mailer, but the boss said no, we don't need any programs of any kind. He didn't mind that it cost $100, he just didn't want there to be more programs on the computers. See, he's crazy.
So, we send out our email newsletters and press releases from Word. Ugh.
