_New page seen as Pop Ups

This I am sure has been address but I am always a little late.

Certain navigation button on my sites that lead to external sites such as "Weather", I have set to create a new window _New. Should I have them set to "_parent" so visitors do not think I have pop ups on my site? If they block the pop up once then any time they visit my site it will prevent many of the buttons from working.

I'd think pop-up blockers react to javascripts and onxyz events I don'T think they would work on target="_blank". But why not test it with a few fre ones? like mozilla and googlebar.

I have the Alexa toolbar with pop up blocker, it ask me if I want to block a pop up when I hit a nav button on my website that simply brings up an external link in a new browser window. I will also try Google and others.

Actually I beleive popup blocks search for window.open
