Printing a File Without Opening it?

how to print a doc file without seeing it before

Hi,
I've got a page with many likes on doc or pdf file, by cliking on the link I'd like to print this file without seeing it before.I'd like to get the printing prompt imediately.

There was a similar post about this (perhaps a month or two ago). You must understand that this would only work in IE, and only if they have Word set as their default *.doc handler, and only if activeX controls are enabled...

Plus, what if they don't want to print the file? You can always tell them "Click to open. Right click to print." ... You have "Print target" in the context menu that pops up when right-clicking a link.

Hmm, does the link even hint that it is going to try to print?

I use a laptop to surf the web, and it has had a printer connected for less than 10 minutes total in the whole of the last 2 years.

Does the link say how many pages the document is?

I would be very unhappy if it wanted to print any more than a few pages on any machine.
