I had Netscape installed on my computer loaded with bookmarks. I then installed Mozilla to see what that program was like. When I realized it was a clone of a crappy netscape and I didn't like it I uninstalled it. Then when I opened Netscape to use that again all my bookmarks are gone. Is there a way to get them back?

Welcome to Webmaster World!

a clone of a crappy netscape
Which version did you install?

I hope you realize that Netscape is based on Mozilla ;) Besides, why did you think Mozilla was crappy?

If it makes your (or someone else's) site look funky or ugly, it's not the browser's fault :)

On windows, Netscape stores the bookmarks in bookmarks.html, a file inside the Netscape directory in a sub-directory called Users.

Because Netscape is derived from Mozilla code, there can sometimes be unplanned interactions between the two. I sure hope you didn't lose everything, but if the file I mentioned is empty the news isn't good.

I know the hurt of losing data accumulated over a long time. It was an incident something like this (actually the loss of email from my Netscape mail client) that made me less casual about how I do backups.
