Cant view in browser .doc's or .jpg's I've uploaded to my host

As the title says....

Ive uploaded Word files and jpgs on to my host, but I cant see them in my browser when looking over the site.

I've tried this on another pc and cant see them there either.

OK I know theres something Ive forgotten! Help required to get my memory working again.

What was it? Help us all out so we don't make the same mistake!

Word docs need to be uploaded in Binary mode, not ASCII, so that's one thing to check.

Also, you need Microsoft Word installed to view Word docs in the browser, and AFAIK it only works in IE.

OK, it was a stupid mistake - I thought it would be!

I had made a mistake in the directory structure on the host.

Amazing what a break and a cup of coffee can achieve!
