Trying to convert from M$ honest I am..

and not that I use mailto links generally, but I don't want to convert to a different e-mail programme just yet so still have Outlook as default.

2 problems

  • clicking on a simple mailto link causes the netscape mail programme to open (not a major disaster could use copy/paste)
  • clicking "submit" on a form which uses a mailto: to send itself causes the NN mail client to open too, with no form data in it, so it's not possible to submit the form, at least not without re-typing in all the data by hand

    I've checked:

  • OE is default
  • the registry setting confirms this(unless there's another one)
  • Netscape is not default

    Any solutions?

Hm, never used that client myself -> using express right now. (I know, I know...)

    Perhaps somebody has an idea...?

I assume you're not browsing in IE.

It seems that no matter what mail program you have set as default, almost any browser with an associated mail client (except IE) will use their own mail client for a mailto: link.

It's bogus, I know. This is one place where IE excels.

    Have a look at [mozilla.org...]
This should work under NN as well.
