Hi!

Looking for ideas on how to implement a quick and easy search function on my website... Any ideas?

Do I necessarily have to have a database and index all the content on my website? Or is there an easier way?

THANKS!

Try Atomz (If you have less than 500 pages).

Otherwise Google provides one to, haven't used it though.

I am with Atomz as well. Good stats for a free service IMO.

For smaller sites you can use a script that just crawls each page in the directory "on the fly". Not the best solution for large or busy sites.

The next step is a system that creates a catalog of the site and then searches the catalog to return results.

I have used bothe methods with good results, just depends on the situation.

There were several recommendations made on another message board. See [aota.net...]

For the features and frequent re-indexing, I have to recommend Freefind
