I believe most add blockers wont bother you. I use a few user requested pop ups with window size calls on onload event on some sites.
Perfectly legit, nothing to do with unrequested adds. Untill it gets abused, I think we are safe to use it.
As korkus2000 mentionned, a minority of add blockers over do the job. I hope they improve soon.

No I'm not, but thanks for bringing that to my attention - I have other uses for it :)
Actually, I don't wish spiders to find these (child window) pages and I keep them behind a disallowed directory. But to my knowledge, using Tedster's example would not overcome pop-up blockers that limit the number of open windows.
